一見当たり前と考えるんだけど、でも実際は違ったりすることがありますね。
At first glance, people think something to take it for granted, but in fact, sometimes it is not true.
下線の言い方は「当たり前と思ってる」という言い方と、それに対して「だが実際には」という言い方です。
1. Many american people think that America is the world's police anytime. But in reality, it is not true.
2. From a distance* it looks as if the moon is very smooth. But in actual fact, on closer inspection**, there are a lot of crater.
3. It seems as if policemen are sensible***. But it is half true****. In fact, they are not all honest.
4. At first glance it looks as if he is a good player. But in fact, he is a bit inconsistant*****.
*from a distance=遠くから見ると
**on closer inspection=よく見ると
***sensible=with sense=賢明である
****half true=半分は本当
*****a bit inconsistant=on and off=（調子の）波がある
