ある見解に対して反論をする言い方です。
ここでのシチュエーションは、「否定的な（=negative）見解に対して、楽観的な（前向きな=optimistic）見解で反論」します。
A:It's been hot everyday this month.
B:But then again, on the other hand, we can easily lose weight.
A:My TV broke yesterday, but I can't afford to buy a new TV.
B:But in the long run, you can have a time to read a lot of books.
A:This coffee is a little bitter for me.
B:Even so, lood at it this way, you can't feel asleep for a while.
